7 Free Ways to Download Spotify to MP3 in 2020

With more than 40 million songs, Spotify offers a massive music library that you can listen to online without taking your storage space. If you pay the premium subscription fee, you can also listen to music offline.

Method 1: Download Spotify song or playlist with Siri Shortcuts

If you are using an iOS device, you probably have heard of the automation application Shortcuts, which is the updated version of Workflow. I have three shortcuts to help you download music from Spotify.

If you are not familiar with Shortcuts, you can free download it from AppStore and get a few pre-made shortcuts in the Shortcuts Gallery to see how it work. To get the shortcuts that I am about to show you, you just open the link in Safari to download it.

This Spotify playlist downloader can only download an entire Spotify playlist. You will have an option to select some of the tracks in the playlist to download if you don’t want to download them all.

Note: This only works for playlist. It won’t work if you input a Spotify track link. It is recommended to run it from Spotify share sheet.

You can simply copy the Spotify playlist link from Spotify app and run this shortcut. You can also tap the Share button to run this shortcut from the share sheet. Besides the playlist link, you can also input playlist ID Or playlist URI to download Spotify playlist to MP3.

For advanced users, you can also use Shortcuts to Move Spotify Playlist to Apple Music and vise versa. Though the authentication process is a little complicated when you want to transfer playlists to Spotify by using Spotify API.

Method 2: Download Spotify to MP3 Using Telegram Bot

If you use Telegram, you can simply use a Telegram bot to download free music whether you are on Android or iOS. It does not require any setup or your Spotify account login info. All you need is this @SpotifyMusicDownloaderBot. After you get this bot, type “/start” (without quotes) and then you can paste any Spotify track link to start downloading music for free. If you are using iOS, you may want to tap the Share button and save to Files after the music is downloaded.

Method 3: Download Spotify Playlist to FLAC or MP3

There is another open-source software called Deezloader, which is developed to download music from Deezer, can also be used to download a playlist from Spotify. The software actually converts the Spotify playlist to Deezer playlist and then download music from Deezer. You can set it to download Spotify Playlist as MP3 or FLAC. The lastest version Deezloader Remix 4.2.2 also allows you to download any single Spotify track and it much easier to set up.

Step 1. Download and install Deezer Remix. Log in with your Deezer account (free account also works).

Step 2. Go to this link: https://developer.spotify.com/dashboard/applications and log in with your Spotify account (free account works).

Step 3. Click on Create a Client ID and then compile the form as you like.

Step 4. Save the settings and then you will see the Client ID and Client Secret. Copy the Client ID and Client Secret to Deezloader Remix.

If you are using an older version of Deezloader Remix, the setup is a little bit complicated than this. You can refer to this video to see the configure process.

As you know, not all tracks on Spotify are also available on Deezer, so you will see some tracks are failed to download because Deezloader cannot find the matched songs. If you want a tool to download all tracks from Spotify playlist, keep reading to see the next tool.

Update: Since Deezloader is discontinued, you can only use this method to download 128kbps MP3. If you prefer high quality, jump to Method 5.

Method 4: Download Spotify to MP3 with AllToMP3

AllToMP3 is free open source software that allows you to download music from Spotify, YouTube, SoundCloud, and Deezer. It is available in Windows, macOS, and Linux. If you check the source code, it is easy to find out that it actually matches the Spotify music track with YouTube video and convert YouTube video to MP3, so the music quality is not as good the other methods. You can free download from its website or Github.

After installation, you can paste the Spotify song link or playlist link and press Enter to start downloading. The music, by default, will be saved in the Music folder. The downloaded music files include all the tags and cover art, but the quality is nowhere close to the next free tool.

Method 5: Download Spotify Music Using Allavsoft

With Shopify's Digital Downloads app, you can upload digital files like videos, songs, and graphic art as products in your store. When a customer purchases the digital product, they receive a link to download the file.

The three main sections in the Digital Downloads app are:

Install the Digital Downloads app

1. From your Shopify admin, click Apps.

Add a digital product

Steps:

1. From your Shopify admin, click Products.
2. Click Add product.
3. Enter the information for your digital product, such as Title, Description, and Pricing.
4. Under the Shipping heading, uncheck the box next to This is a physical product.
5. To make the product temporarily unavailable until the digital attachment is added: at the top of the product page next to Sales channels, click Manage, uncheck the boxes next to your sales channels, then click Done.
6. Click Save product.
7. Under the product title, click More actions.
8. Click Add Digital Attachment. This takes you to the Digital Downloads app page.
9. Click UPLOAD FILE.
10. Select the file you want to attach to this product.

1. From your Shopify admin, click Products.

2. Click the title of the product you want to add an attachment to.

3. Under the product title, click More actions.

4. Click Add Digital Attachment. This takes you to the Digital downloads app page.

5. Click UPLOAD FILE.

   If you have multiple variants, then you can select which variants to attach a digital file to. You need to individually upload the file to each variant that you want to link to the file.

6. Select the file that you want to attach to this product.

Adjust the fulfillment settings for your digital products

You can review your digital attachments and adjust your fulfillment settings on the Digital Downloads app page. The options for fulfillment of a digital product are:

• Automatically create fulfillments - If you select this option, then after a successful payment, customers who purchase this product are automatically emailed a download link and the order is marked as fulfilled. Use this option for entirely digital products, such as an MP3 or a PDF.

• Manually create fulfillments - If you select this option, then you need to manually mark the order as fulfilled before a download link is emailed to the customer. Use this option when the product is a mix of a digital and physical products, such as a vinyl record with an MP3 download.

Steps:

1. From your Shopify admin, click Apps.
2. Click Digital Downloads.
3. Click the digital product you'd like to review.
4. Click the gear icon and select Settings in the drop-down menu.
5. From the Settings dialogue box, select the fulfillment option you want.
6. Click SUBMIT.

Note

If you have multiple variants, then you need to individually select your preferred fulfillment method for each variant.

If you want to use Manual fulfillment because the product contains a physical component, but you also want to send the digital component to the customer immediately after purchase, then you can send the customer a manual download link.

Steps:

1. From your Shopify admin, click Apps.
2. Click Digital Downloads.
3. Click the name of the digital product that you'd like to create a download link for.
4. Click the gear icon and select Manual URLs.
5. Click GENERATE URL.
6. Copy the URL that is generated and send it to the customer. This lets the customer securely download the digital attachment.

Note

Manual download URLs are unlimited use, and let a customer freely download a file. You can disable the link by clicking the trash can button beside it.

Set a download limit

You can review your digital attachments and set a download limit on the Digital Downloads app page. A download limit controls the number of times that a customer can download a digital product.

Steps:

1. From your Shopify admin, click Apps.
2. Click Digital Downloads.
3. Click the digital product that you'd like to set a download limit for.
4. Click the gear icon and select Settings in the drop-down menu.
5. In the text box next to Total limit, enter the number of times that you would like the customer to be able to download this file. For example, if you enter 2, then the customer can download the file twice.

Note

To allow unlimited downloads, enter 0 as the download limit. This is the default setting.

1. Click SUBMIT.

Modify Digital Downloads orders

The Orders section provides you with an overview of all orders containing digital downloads that have been purchased through your store. This section shows you:

• order number
• date and time
• customer's name
• customer's email
• number of downloads per order

Like the Orders page in the admin, you can click each entry to view that order's details.

Each order shows you:

• customer name
• customer email
• option to resend the fulfillment email

The Orders section also tells you any time a download was completed, the customer's IP, as well as which browser and operating system were used to download the digital item.

Resend a download link

1. From your Shopify admin, click Apps.
2. Click Digital Downloads.
3. Click Orders.
4. Click the order number of the order you'd like to reissue a download link for.
5. Click RESEND DOWNLOAD EMAIL.

Cancel a download

You can deactivate a customer's download link to prevent them from being able to download the product.

Export a CSV file of orders

The CSV file export option, which is at the bottom of the Orders page, generates a spreadsheet file of all digital orders that have been processed by the app. This means that even if the customer has not yet downloaded the product, there is still a record of the customer's order in this report.

The report includes:

• order date and time
• number of downloads
• customer's email address
• customer's first name
• checkout ID associated with the order
• customer's last name
• total number of line items in the order
• order total (including shipping and tax)
• SKUs included in the order
• order number (listed as title)
• date of last update

Edit email templates

The Settings section provides you with ways to personalize the emails that you send to customers. There are two email templates associated with digital products:

• Downloads ready. Customers receive this email when their digital product is ready to download.
• Attachment updated. Customers receive this email when a digital product they've purchased has been updated.

Steps:

1. From your Shopify admin, click Apps.
2. Click Digital Downloads.
3. Click Settings.
4. Click the name of the email template you want to edit.

5. Make the desired changes.

   Note

   You can use Liquid variables to customize emails. For example, if you add {{customer.first_name}} in your email template, then the customer's first name appears in its place. You can use this comprehensive list of all email template variables as a reference.

6. Click Save.

Display a download link on the checkout page

You can set whether customers can download the digital product directly on the checkout page.

Steps:

1. From your Shopify admin, click Apps.
2. Click Digital Downloads.
3. Click Settings.
4. Next to Checkout, check or uncheck the box next to Display download link on checkout page.

• If you check the box next to Display download link on checkout page, then the customer sees a Download now link on the order confirmation page. The customer also receives an email with the ability to download the file.

• If you uncheck the box next to Display download link on checkout page, then the customer doesn't see a Download now link on the order confirmation page. Instead, they receive an email with the ability to download the file.

What is the maximum file size I can upload?

The maximum file size is 5 GB. Uploading large files can seem to take a long time because many internet service providers give priority to downloads.

Can I upload multiple files to the same product?

No. You can only upload one file per product. If you need to attach more files, then you can use a .zip file or another type of archive file that can contain files within it. You can't upload file folders.

Can I limit the number of times a customer can download a product?

Yes. You can limit the number of times each customer can download a product. This is set in the product's settings in the Dashboard. To remove a download limit, set the limit to 0 (zero). See Set a download limit.

How do I remove a digital product?
